Starting from Friday, August 16, the current Venezuelan monetary cone will have two new banknotes. This addition will be part of a plan to expand the family of current currency varieties.
The new Bs.200 and Bs.500 will gradually begin to circulate and will complement the current monetary cone, which is expanding due to the development of the Venezuelan economy.
According to the details shared by BCV, the bills feature images of the trilogy of Simon Bolivar the Liberator on the front and an image commemorating the Battle of Lake Maracaibo on the back.
The current monetary cone, in force since 2021, consists of notes of 5, 10, 20, 50 and 100 bolivars, with equivalent amounts ranging from 0.13 to 2.72 dollars at the official exchange rate, which closed this Friday at 36, 0.68 bolivars according to the BCV.
