Last Thursday, forward Brandon Johns Jr arrived in Luleå. Later in the evening, defender Demonte Buckingham joined him. During Friday, forwards Travis Henson and Devonte “Ticket” Gaines entered the Norrbotten area after various flight problems.
This means that BC Lulea is basically fully staffed and only needs to fill one position before the whole team can train together for the first time on Monday. Excitingly, I believe the bloggers will visit the Lulea Energy Arena once and twice next week.
The next players I will pay extra attention to are of course the four foreign players of BC Luleå, I already know the abilities of Gustav Hansen, the Daniel brothers, Tobias Sjöberg, Oskar Wikstrom-Stummer and some others.
What we can already say, given the different backgrounds of the four Yankees, is that Little John and Buckingham will be the clear stars of the team. Players who perform well throughout the season, lead the way, and win games. The other stuff doesn’t exist. That’s the demand graph.
Hansen and Gaines are more improvisational. The former comes from the third division of Germany, which won’t scare anyone, while the latter comes straight out of college with high playing time but few impressive statistics to show off to the outside world.
These two gentlemen have something to prove, and then I barely even consider the stats column. I think coach Hakan Larsson would rather see high basketball IQ, role acceptance, defensive performance, and good character. That’s more than enough for him.
Obviously, the quality of BC Lulea’s brand new import quartet will determine the team’s position in the SBL food chain next season..
