Angolan writer João Kaveto is fulfilling the book presentation agenda mixing personal narratives with technological and social elements after launching his debut book, No Banco: Ngunji’s Values at the Drongos Table, on August 14 at Livraria Drummond in São Paulo.
There are lessons in “No Bank” where the author, an expert in financial management and administration, does not abandon the didactic exercise when teaching how to conduct the course, passing on lessons from his own experiences as well as other characters, among them Ngunji, in his narrative.
“My personal experiences are also reflected in the theme of No Banco. Remember, bank can mean a financial institution, a seat, and if translated into my native language, “bank” means “omangu”, which can mean “exercise of power,” the author explains.
After São Paulo, Bahia and Pernambuco are the next two launch destinations, with the calendar order being August 16 (this Friday) at the Academia de Letras da Bahia; August 20 at the Faculty of Economics of the Catholic University of Pernambuco in Recife, and August 22 at Livraria Jaqueira in the same region.
Signing and exchanging literary experiences is the scene of the first two moments, especially in São Paulo and Bahia.
Cavito’s main inspiration for writing No Bank: Ngugi’s Values at the Drongo Table came from observations of economic and socio-political factors, as well as the principles of social justice and love for others.
His personal experiences as a businessman and consultant also played an important role in shaping the themes covered in the work.
The book, sponsored by publisher Viseu, will be officially launched on September 25 at the auditorium of the Catholic University of Angola in Luanda.
His books, Strategic Analysis of Agro-Industrial Projects in Angola and A Empresa do Meu Avô, are scheduled for publication in 2025.
