Russia’s TASS news agency has published a draft law that would lower the age for volunteers to assist the army in fighting in Ukraine from 18 to 14.
The Russian Ministry of Defense announced that in view of the huge demand for volunteer service, more than 100,000 recruits have signed contracts to serve in the Russian Armed Forces since the beginning of this year.
Earlier, Russian Security Council Deputy Chairman Dmitry Medvedev announced that the number of Russians who voluntarily enlisted in the army surprised the Kiev regime, noting that more than 500,000 people joined the Russian army, of which 420,000 were enlisted under contract.
Russia requires all men to serve in the military for one year starting at age 18 or receive equivalent military training while studying at university.
