Honduras marks Light of the World Communion

Tegucigalpa – In an atmosphere of fraternity and spiritual joy, the Light of the World in Honduras commemorates the redemptive sacrifice of Jesus Christ through the Eucharist, the most solemn and sacred act of the followers of this Church.

The headquarters of the national celebrations are located in San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa, Catacamas and Las Lajas, where doctrines according to the Apostolic Creed are taught and the nation’s choirs actively participate in praising God’s infinite goodness.

The joy was heightened by the welcoming ceremony on August 11, which reflected the values ​​of fraternity, love, respect and tolerance. With excitement on their faces, the delegations made their way down the central aisle, with the Apostolic Delegate telling them: “You’re welcome.”

“We are very happy about this celebration because brothers from all the provinces of Honduras have come together in one faith and one family,” said lawyer Nidia Alexia Sánchez, excitedly.

During the three-day celebration, headquarters hosted a photo exhibition showing the growth of Light of the World, with themes such as evangelization, temple infrastructure and Eucharistic celebrations in Honduras and around the world. In San Pedro Sula, the gallery was titled “Communion of the Children of God.”

On August 14, the great day of Holy Communion, joy, peace and devotion began from the first hour of the day. In the afternoon liturgy, the choir and the parishioners sang in devotion and unity to remember the great events of the death, passion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

After the reading of the Apostolic Message, the time comes for the distribution of bread and wine, elements that, having been blessed with the authority of the Apostles, have power and blessing for all those involved.

During the farewell ceremony, the believers embraced each other like brothers and expressed their wishes for blessings and prosperity to each other.

“We leave stronger for the blessings we have received. We will return to our places to continue spreading the Gospel of Christ, we know that the world needs light, but we are here to bring it,” said teacher Ángel Dávila Osorio.

The final part of the four Masses thanked the Honduran authorities for the support and facilities provided for the celebration of Holy Communion and reaffirmed their commitment to continue being good Christians of God and good citizens of society.
