The last weekend in May, there was an exhibition at Héðinsminni of embroidered pictures by Sigríðar Sigurðardóttir, known to many as Sirri of Graumbær, although she was actually from Stóra-Akrum in Blönduhlíðinn and retired as director of the Skagfirðinga Museum of Architecture. This exhibition of Sirría’s was rich with beautiful embroidered pictures and ribbons, most of which were sewn in Icelandic cross-stitch.
