Following an outbreak of smallpox in the Democratic Republic of Congo, the disease is said to have spread widely across many parts of East and Central Africa.

Places where the disease has appeared include Uganda and Kenya, two countries that are neighbors of Somalia and where people from the two countries live side by side.

So, how can you prevent chickenpox or identify it through its symptoms?

Dr. Sahra Abdi Ahmed contacted Mogadishu by phone. Abdi Farah Ali Tano, who works at Shaafi Hospital, first asked him to explain the condition.
