The 2022 edition of Consulentia, the national edition of Anasf (the Association of Financial Advisers Authorized to Provide OTC Services), opens in Rome at the Parco della Musica Auditorium, starting with the traditional “one-hour” appointment. It aims to introduce specific issues in the consulting world, while striving to broaden horizons. This year’s event features Beatrice Venezi, pianist, composer and orchestra conductor. Paolo Taticchi, Professor of Corporate Strategy and Sustainable Development at University College London. Both are young and have success stories.

According to Venezia, participatory leadership is achieved through the evaluation and empowerment of the interlocutor. Therefore, the moment of listening is crucial. Know how to command while always listening. This challenge is undoubtedly also crucial for financial advisors, as emphasized by Luigi Conte, president of Anasf.

We asked Beatrice Venezi why she agreed to stand in front of a group of financial advisors. “There were many commonalities, first of all the leadership philosophy implemented and secondly the type of listening, both to our teams (in my case the orchestra) and to the public. Sometimes classical music still closes itself off and it is important not to continue to be associated with old elitist models. We need to recover communication with the public. This also seems to be common for advisors.” Venezi also dealt with the issue of communication and recalled that the contact strategies were different because the audiences to be reached were different.

However, there is a characteristic of being an artist that is increasingly of concern to the entire working world: namely, the discontinuity of employment, the alternation of periods of greater or lesser commitment, and the possibility of remuneration and savings. From this point of view, Venezi explains: “I try to tell myself that I am curious by nature and I like to know what is going on. For example, I am now trying to understand what cryptocurrencies are.” But he adds: “I have a financial advisor and I am happy with it because this is not my field and I think it is necessary to rely on those who have expertise. I trust my advisor, but I have a steady dialogue and I try to get information.”

For Luigi Conte, the connecting element between these two worlds is precisely to make the public aware of something that many people are far away from. This statement applies to both classical music and financial consulting. So if the idea of ​​leadership and co-working, like that of an orchestra, opens Consulentia, the second step concerns sustainability. Paolo Taticchi emphasizes the importance of creating shared value and, in this regard, the job of the consultants distributed throughout the territory is to help understand and guide sustainable development choices.
