This is the expected recovery. In Nouméa, the Artisan Fair reopened this Thursday morning at the Maison Nouvel des Craftsmen. The return takes place over four days. From the beginning, the public is present. For their part, the exhibitors welcome the gesture of the Chamber of Commerce to offer booths at half price to encourage their participation.
The Nouville Artisan Fair in Noumea reopened on Thursday with a strong attendance, with 86 exhibitors responding by reducing booth rentals by 50%.
Both creators took advantage of the opportunity and even shared their locations to optimize operations.”The 50% off on the stands was really welcome. I don’t know if I would have risked paying full price. We didn’t know if there would be people there, would people dare to go out and spend money? So it was really welcomed and appreciated.”, stressed exhibitor Elodie Butryn.
“This allows the artisans to come and exhibit and hopefully make sales. It is also a time for them to meet and interact with each other again after more than three months.”, continues Elisabeth Rivière, President of the Chamber of Crafts.
Craftsmen are diversifying, trying to offer sometimes cheaper creations. A big trend at the fair is the purchase of useful salad or aromatic plants. A way to combine small wishes with economic and food realities.
The artisans’ market is open until Sunday. Until the end of the year, all trade shows at Nouvel will benefit from halving the price of exhibition stands.
