According to him, Mikoski is the first prime minister to visit the Customs Administration. He said that customs administration is an important component and a very important pillar of stability and the fight against crime, corruption and illegal trade, and he declared his full support, but also expected “extremely serious results.”
“If anyone thinks things will be the same as before, they are very wrong. Everyone should know this. This applies to all officers of the Customs Administration, whether they are at border posts, mobile teams or administrative buildings,” Mikowski said after visiting the Customs Administration.
He warned customs employees not to deceive themselves into thinking they have the right to work outside the law simply because they are part of the Macedonian system.
“They will be severely punished. They will be caught, brought to justice and severely punished. There is no politics, race or religion here. It should be clear to everyone. This is the working principle of my government. The day when I am no longer leading this government, they can work the way they think they should. If someone does not like this principle, he is free to look for another job or find another charm, as more experienced people would say,” Mykolsky said at a press conference with the head of the Customs Administration, Boban Nikolowski.
He pointed out that the law must apply to everyone.
“I repeat, there are no political, ethnic or religious beliefs. This law must apply to everyone, across the entire territory. Anyone arrested, whether they are from Debar or Delčevo, Kumanovo or Gevgelija, I personally guarantee that they will be brought to justice. “No one has the right to steal from the people,” the prime minister added.
Mikowski also said he expects a record-breaking, no-holds-barred fight against crime.
“I would say that through this struggle and the outcome of the struggle, we actually expect more money to flow into the budget. With these inflows of money in the budget, we will be able to allocate more money for capital investments and all the reforms that we plan to implement,” the prime minister added.
