this Evelyn Matthei (UDI), Mayor of Providencia, He referred to activities led by ruling party figures in recent weeks.

After proposing a new system to seize species from street trade in the commune, Mattei criticised “What we’re seeing is a festival of inaugurations, meetings, announcements, and we’re seeing all kinds of personalities, ministers, everything.”

Along these lines, he stressed “They always stand with the same candidates. I haven’t heard of any objection to any kind of invitation to such a meeting.”

The community leader said, “It is not for me to decide whether it is interventionism or not,” adding “This is too blatant. One thing is whether there is interventionism and whether it can be punished by law. The Audit Office will see it.”

“What no one doubts is that it is in extremely bad taste and that it transcends all moral boundaries, the boundaries of what can and should not be done. But this is already a moral limit and everyone knows whether they abide by it or not,” he added.

Mattei said he hoped that “at least all Chileans will not spend their money on illegal interventionism and that the auditor general’s office will see that.”
