The song list released by the 63-year-old singer on Monday includes two Nigerian artists, Tems on “Love Me Jeje” and Rema on his “Yayo” song, and African singers Tyla South on the song “Jump.” Gunnar and Skillibon.

Obama unveiled his summer playlist via social media, saying: “As summer comes to an end, I wanted to share some songs I’ve been listening to recently. If it wasn’t included I hope you’ll find something new to listen to!”


Obama’s playlist also featured hits from other popular artists, including Beyoncé’s hit “Texas Hold ‘Em,” Glorilla and Megan Thee Stallion’s “Wanna Be,” Billie Eilish’s “CHIHIRO” and the classic 2Pac’s “How Do U Want It” featuring K-Ci and JoJo.

In a recent interview with Carter Gregory (aka thecarterb), one of the most prominent personalities on social media, Obama revealed that his daughters Sasha and Malia played an important role in developing his musical taste and broadening his knowledge, guiding him to adopt and listen to earlier music because older people tend to listen to. “I used them as an example, and they made me stop playing songs from the 80s,” he said.


During his time in office, Obama began to make a habit of sharing some of his favorite things with his followers, including books he had read and various other things.

Since Obama left the presidency, the list has grown to include his favorite summer songs and his favorite movies, which he plays twice a year.
