The Third Military Region of Marib province confirmed that the main road connecting Marib and Bayda will be open to travelers within the next 24 hours.
According to media reports in the region, Brigadier General Abdul Rajib Dabwan, Chief of Staff of the Third Military Region, visited on Saturday to inspect the earth barriers and sand dune removal work on the line connecting the Beida-Ma’a governorate in the Rib province.
Dabwan confirmed that the Third Military Region will continue to follow up and monitor the implementation and fully complete the work, implementing the instructions of Major General Sultan Arada, member of the Presidential Command Council and Governor of Marib Province, and Major General Mansour bin Abdullah Tawbaba, Commander of the Third Military Region.
He noted that “the directives of the political and military leadership provided for the opening of this road across the battlefield in order to meet the urgent needs of citizens and to relieve them from the suffering they endured on the battlefield.” Desert Highway.
“The process of clearing earth barriers, sand dunes and remnants of war from the road was delayed because Houthi militias targeted workers who were clearing the waste on Wednesday, and a bulldozer driver was injured,” he said.
“All roads connecting Marib province with other provinces have been open to all travelers since Al-Arada announced the opening of the (Marib-Fardhat Nihm-Sanaa) road in February last year. ) Road, the Houthis are stubborn in this regard and refuse to respond to this initiative.”
A few days ago, a community initiative succeeded in forcing the Houthis to open the road, a move welcomed by local authorities in Marib and seen as a response to an initiative announced by members of the Presidential Leadership Council and the governor of Sudan’s Arada province last February.
