Dr. Ngirenti thanks Kagame for trusting him again

Minister Dr. Ngirente in his message to X assured X that we will continue to work together and will not give up on the path of developing Rwanda.

Minister Dr. Ngirente said: “I sincerely thank the Honorable President of the Republic, Paul Kagame, for reinstilling his confidence in me as Prime Minister. I pledge to continue working together and not give up in the journey of developing Rwanda”.

Dr. Ngirente Edouard has been named Prime Minister of the new government for 2024/2029, two days after President Kagame vowed to lead Rwanda for a new five-year term.

President Kagame vowed to continue leading Rwanda at a ceremony held at the Amahoro Stadium on August 11, 2024.

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, it was announced that Dr. Ngirente was appointed Prime Minister in a notice issued by the Office of the Head of State in Urugwiro Village, which was read out by Rwanda Television.

President Kagame recently announced that he will continue to work with Dr. Kagame. I am Prime Minister Edward.

During the campaign, Paul Kagame on July 11, 2024 asked thousands of people who gathered at the Nyarutov site in the Gakanke district to continue to support the Prime Minister and his successor so that development activities can continue to accelerate.

Dr. Ngirente Edward is the sixth Prime Minister of Rwanda. When he completes his five-year term, he will become the longest-serving person in the seat, replacing Bernard Makuza, who served for 11 years and six months.

Dr. Ngirente has served as Prime Minister for more than seven years, since he first assumed office on August 30, 2017.

Prior to being appointed Prime Minister, Dr. Ngirente Edouard was an employee of the World Bank, working as an advisor to the Executive Director responsible for 20 countries and as General Counsel. He was also a government official in the Ministry of Finance and Planning of Rwanda.

Dr. Ngirente Edouard is an agricultural economist with a Ph.D.

He attended Rwahi School for his primary school and continued his secondary education at Groupe Scolaire de la Salle in Byumba before heading to the University of Rwanda in Butare.
