Nica Lester Lejarza had been in a relationship with Aracely Rodríguez for three years, but for a year he had been verbally and physically abusing her until last February 27, when he suffocated her to death in the room where they lived.
As the days passed and the suspect remained at large, the victim’s daughter, 25-year-old Michelle Alvarez Rodriguez, chose to seek help, so the Costa Rican authorities once again intensified the search for the suspect, who is believed to have fled to Guanacaste or Nicaragua?
“That man has caused great harm to me and my other three brothers, and we ask from the bottom of our hearts that you help us find him so that our mother’s crimes do not go unpunished,” Michelle Alvarez said.
At the same time, he explained, the OIJ authorities confirmed that they requested support from their Nicaraguan counterparts to find the whereabouts of Lester Lejalza.
“The suspected killer returned to Nicaragua to evade justice in Costa Rica, which is why the OIJ asked for help,” the young woman said.
