Damascus (for you) – The Ministry of Tourism launches joint tourism activities between Syria and the Republic of Pakistan. The two countries’ tourism and travel offices held a joint seminar today at the Sheraton Damascus Hotel.

The seminar focused on the development of various tourism sectors in the two countries, especially entertainment and culture, and discussed the possibility of exchanges between tourist groups of the two countries.

In a statement to the press, Deputy Minister of Tourism Nidal Meshfiq drew attention to the importance of the seminar in restoring tourism diversity between the two countries through mutual visits and tourism products, increasing the number of tourists and diversifying their market segments.

“The purpose of this seminar is to determine the true development of tourism in Syria,” said Shahid Akhter, ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Damascus. “This will be done through the members of the Syrian Tourism Board, who will promote tourism, expand it to entertainment and culture, and attract the maximum number of Pakistani tourists to Damascus after tourism was limited to religious affairs,” he said.

Akhter said that representatives of the Pakistan Tourism Board participated in the seminar, expressed their impressions of what they saw and heard in Syria, and shed light on Pakistan’s tourism industry. Akhter said that this seminar is the beginning of relations and expansion in the field of tourism. The development of relations between the two countries, especially the component of Syria’s tourism industry, is large and diverse.
