DOHA, Qatar – Qatar Charity has launched the “Labih Gaza” campaign to support the people of the Gaza Strip and provide them with urgent needs in terms of food, health, housing and education, aiming to benefit 550,000 people.
Qatar Charity explained in a statement today that the total cost of the campaign is estimated at 40 million riyals and includes the provision of food baskets and hot meals and provision in shelters, tents and caravans, as well as the repair of houses, the health sector includes supporting the health sector and renovating hospitals, while in the education sector, the goal is to restore and build schools and universities and provide student scholarships.
Mr. Ahmed Yousef Fakhro, Assistant CEO of Resource Development and Media Sector at Qatar Charity, said that Qatar Charity scheduled this event in the first ten days of the Islamic month of Muharram, which are the best days for charity work competition. Given the difficult humanitarian situation that Palestinians in Gaza are experiencing and the suffering exacerbated by the severe shortage of basic needs, Qatar’s philanthropists are called upon to continue to provide relief and support to the people of Gaza in a way that will help meet their needs and alleviate their suffering.
