In recent days, flocks of storks have been flying over the Turkish metropolis, they are on the move, that is, on the move. Migrating between Northern Europe and South Africa, Turkish authorities have warned that this year, a million storks are expected to fly over Istanbul in August and September during the migration of these birds to warmer parts of Africa. Flight controllers have previously warned authorities several times that stork flocks are crossing air corridors and endangering air traffic.

In the audio released, the controller can be heard warning the pilot of a large flock of storks in the aircraft’s path.

“Just for your information, a flock of storks has been reported 3,000 feet ahead of you,” the controller warned in one of the recordings.

Experts say storks sometimes change direction suddenly due to wind, making air travel more dangerous.
