NASSAU, BAHAMAS – The Bahamas Immigration Department held a graduation ceremony for the 2024 “A” Troop recruits at the Royal Bahamas Police Force Training Academy on August 8, 2024, with the theme “Celebrating a Legacy of Excellence”.
The training was also attended by officials from other services and family members of the 15 recruits. The 15 recruits underwent a rigorous six-month training covering intelligence and investigation, unarmed combat, self-defence, use of firearms and tactics, close quarters combat (CQB), land navigation, swimming, foreign languages, human rights awareness and government.
Immigration and National Insurance Minister Alfred Sears said he was confident the 15 young men would take their duties seriously and do their part in protecting the nation’s borders. Three recruits received special awards: Joshua Ferguson received the Minister’s Award; McAllister Smith received the Director’s Award; and Kashad Cartwright received the Instructor’s Award.
