Administrative Court: Election appeals can only be heard before the Central Registry
The Administrative Court announced that those who wish to appeal the electoral decision of the Independent High Authority on the preliminary list of presidential candidates for October 6, 2024 must submit their request only to the Central Registry located at the seat of the Presidential Trial Chamber.
In a press release dated August 12, 2024, the Administrative Court designated the Trial Chamber to be located at 6, rue Dabbaghin, 1060, Tunis.
As a reminder, the ISI spokesperson noted that from today, August 12, 2024, candidates and those whose dossiers were rejected can file appeals and take legal action. This period will end no later than September 3, 2024, when ISI will announce the final list of presidential candidates. Campaigning will begin on September 14, 2024.
It is noteworthy that the Independent High Electoral Body held a press conference at the Fort Said Arts, Culture and Literature Center on Saturday, August 10, 2024, to announce the preliminary list of candidates for the presidential election on October 6.
These are:
– Zouhair Maghzaoui, who received 11 sponsorships from the ARP representative.
– Kaïs Saïed, who collected 248,467 valid sponsorships from voters and 294 from elected officials, which were distributed between the ARP, regional and district councils, and local authorities.
– Ayachi Zammel collected 10,457 valid voter sponsorships.
Please note that more than fifteen people have submitted their application documents. However, many have been deprived of the famous number three ballot paper, which is a required document for this election.
