Farnborough: The Bay
Sanad Group, wholly owned by Mubadala Investment Company (Mubadala), announced the signing of a partnership agreement with Airbus during its participation in the 2024 Farnborough International Airshow in the UK.
The new partnership was officially announced in the presence of Ismail Ali Abdullah, Head of Strategic Parks at Mubadala Investment Company’s UAE Investments arm. The agreement was signed by Amer Siddiqui, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sanad Group; and Mikael Hawari, President of Airbus Africa and Middle East, marking the beginning of a new phase of Sanad’s expansion in the aviation sector.
The new agreement includes Sanad’s maintenance, repair and overhaul services for engines on single-aisle Airbus aircraft, such as the A320 and A321 wide-body aircraft, and the A330. The engine models covered by the agreement include the Rolls-Royce Trent 700, the International Aero Engines V2500-A5 and the CFM LEAP-1A.
The addition of Airbus to Sanad’s client list will open up new horizons for the company’s growth and development, which will have an impact in strengthening Abu Dhabi’s position as a leading global aviation hub in the short and long term.
Ismail Ali Abdullah stressed that the new partnership with “Airbus” is a continuation of decades of existing strategic cooperation and partnership with major international companies that influence the aviation industry sector, stemming from the growing global confidence in “Sanad” capabilities and its engineering and technological capabilities based in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, which qualifies it to influence the global aviation industry.
Mansour Janahi, Group Managing Director and CEO of Sanad, said: “At Sanad, we are honoured to be working with Airbus, a global leader in the aviation industry, as our latest long-term partner. This agreement confirms our commitment to providing world-class repair and overhaul services, reinforcing our position as a leading company and reliable partner in the aviation sector.”
