The sound of Lena Kovačević’s song “It’s Summer” was heard at the Paris Olympics, more precisely at the Arena de La Défense in Paris (August 11, 2024), after our water polo athletes won the gold medal.
From the organization of the Olympics, they chose this song of Lina to be played over the public address system at the stadium after the final. It was a great opportunity to have a Serbian song in the Olympic playlist.
On the occasion, Lina said: “Congratulations, you have made us so proud for the third time and thank you for the privilege of hearing your voice at the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.”
Just to remind you, the song “It’s Summer” was covered in 2020 by Lena and Darko Dimitrov based on the original text and music of the band Đogani from 1995. The music was composed by Đorđe Đogani and Dejan Ivanković, the text was written by Đorđe Đogani. The song was recorded as part of the Radio S special edition “Stars Sing Stars – New Sounds of the 90s”.
The song “Leto je” sung by Lena Kovačević has millions of views and is one of the main hits in the playlists during the hot months in the region.
