13-year-old boy drowned on vacation: the scene was in chaos

Police received the first report of the incident at 11:36 a.m. on Monday. The boy was pulled from the water around 1:50 p.m.

– The child had reached the river and fell into the water. Rescuers said that the body and legs were stuck in the rocks and it was difficult to pull it out. This was also due to the high water flow.

As a result, emergency services had to call in the National Rescue Team and obtain more equipment.

Just over two hours later, the child was pulled from the water and life-saving first aid was immediately administered at the scene. The man was then airlifted to Haukeland Hospital where it was confirmed that his life could not be saved.

The parents have not yet been formally questioned. They have been receiving care in hospital until today.

“They have been through the most dramatic thing any parent could go through. It must have been a brutal and traumatic event for them,” the police chief said.
