Algerian delegation returns home

The Algerian delegation participated in the 2024 Paris Olympics, which closed in France on Sunday evening, and returned to Algiers this afternoon with three medals, including two gold.

The Algerian delegation, composed of the three winning athletes and their technical staff, was accompanied at Houari Boumediene Airport by the Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr. Abdelrahman Hamad, and civilian and military officials.

Algeria ended its 2024 Olympics participation with three medals, two golds and one bronze, matching its all-time best result from the 1996 Atlanta Olympics.

Algeria had 46 athletes (27 men, 19 women) competing in 15 events, showing the diversity and competitiveness of its representatives in different disciplines such as athletics, gymnastics, boxing, judo and water sports (rowing, canoeing). Although not all of them made it to the podium, the collective efforts and individual performances proved the progress made by Algerian sports.
