Damascus (for you) – Today, on the first anniversary of the launch of the National Program for Early Diagnosis and Intervention of Hearing Loss in Newborns at Damascus University, the event “Give Every Child a Chance to Hear” was held here we go.
In his speech, Minister of Health Hassan Gabbasi confirmed the completion of the national programme in line with international standards in the first year of the programme, as well as the completion of the renewal process to expand the number of testing, intervention, rehabilitation and voice screening centres.
Garbas also said that in the first year of the program, he provided reassurance and created safety for 23,000 families by confirming that their children’s hearing was safe or making the necessary interventions through hearing aids.
Minister Gabas also pointed out that success did not end with the strength, collective efforts and long-term work of official state institutions, civil institutions, non-governmental organizations and experts, but on the contrary, it has begun now.
The Minister of Health also stated: “Our goal is to reach every newborn through screening centres close to the family, to check their hearing or provide appropriate intervention and rehabilitation through specialist doctors in the provinces.”
