Tuberi to lead women’s futsal team

Labasa defender and former Kulas captain Unaisi Tuberi has been named captain of the inaugural Digicel Fiji Women’s Futsal Team.

The 30-year-old from Ngadongo brings a wealth of experience to the position having previously captained the Fiji Kulas.

Head coach Jerry Sam praised Tuberg’s leadership skills, saying she has a great knowledge of the game and is a great asset to the team.

“You can see Tuberi stands out in training, she has leadership qualities, can quickly organise herself and communicate with the players, which is very important in futsal because we need people like this to guide the players,” said Sam.

Assisting Tuberi will be former Kulas and current Rewa women’s team representative Naomi Waqanidrola.
