1 million pesos stolen in Public Bank attack

SANTO DOMINGO – The attackers stole a total of Public Bankwhich is 1.6 million pesos, and if divided, each person will get 400,000 pesos.

This information was provided by a police spokesperson. Diego Pesqueirahe said the agency had details of how they first and last entered a bank branch.

According to a preliminary report, policeReports said that around 1:30 a.m., Estrela Arias barricaded herself in a room at the Costa Azul cabin at 30 May Avenue and then began shooting at police officers.

Similarly, Belliard Aybar was shot dead during an alleged clash with police at his residence.

For this, Eddy Enmanuel Segura Arias, 26, was detained, who confessed to participating in the attack on the branch of Banco Popular, located at the corner of Luperón Avenue and Olof Palme in the capital.

The incident occurred around 4:30pm on Monday when three masked men entered the branch, held the security guard hostage and took out as much money as they could, while a fourth man waited outside in a vehicle, ready to flee.

According to Banco Popular Dominican Republic, no incidents occurred to customers or employees during the robbery.
