Venezuela’s efforts to increase gasoline and natural gas production through an alliance with Iran are about to begin, state-owned Petroleos de Venezuela SA (PDVSA) reported on Friday via social networks.
He explained that thanks to the participation of the Iranian company Hilaivis Arina, the Caribbean country will consolidate the increase in the production of natural gas, liquefied petroleum gas and natural gasoline in the extraction plants of San Joaquín, in the state of Anzoátegui (northeast), Jusepín and Santa Bárbara, in the state of Monagas (northeast).
“Thanks to the strategic alliance promoted by President Nicolás Maduro and the Islamic Republic of Iran, PDVSA Gas is strengthening its operations and expanding its production capacity through high value-added technologies,” PDVSA said.

On June 3, the Iranian Embassy in Venezuela reported that an Iranian business delegation met with the Vice President of the Economic Sector and Minister of Industry, José Felix Rivas Alvarado, to “strengthen bilateral cooperation” and review the “status of joint projects.”
In February this year, Iranian Oil Minister Chabad al-Oji visited Venezuela with the aim of strengthening the bilateral energy alliance.
Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro estimated on Saturday that the country will produce “at least” 1,200,000 barrels per day of oil by 2024 and expects to reach 2,000,000 barrels per day next year. I also proposed the resumption of “petrochemical production” and the “expansion of investment and natural gas production.”
