JAKARTA (ANTARA) – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) confirmed that the availability of infrastructure such as toll roads and airports supports transportation to the capital of Nusa Tenggara (IKN) in East Kalimantan.
“Once the toll road is completed, the journey from Balikpapan to Nusa Tenggara will only take 40 to 50 minutes,” he said at the groundbreaking ceremony of PT Intiland Development Tbk on Monday.
Jokowi pointed out that once completed, Nusantara Airport will facilitate access to the new capital from all cities in Indonesia.
The President noted that the flight time between IKN and Nusantara Airport, which has a 2,200-meter runway, is only 15 minutes.
Jokowi said Nusantara Airport was actually reserved for VVIPs, but now the public can also use it.
“After the completion of these two facilities, Jakarta, Surabaya, Bandung, Medan and Makassar will be closer to Nusa Tenggara,” he noted.
