According to the company’s post-election national monitor, 60% of Venezuelans have “no doubts” about the results provided by the National Electoral Council after the election.
59% of Venezuelans believe that the winner of the country’s last presidential election was Nicolás Maduro, according to a Monitor País study published this Saturday by the Hinterlaces company.
According to the study, between 58% and 59% of respondents confirmed that the president was the winner, and between 50% and 53% confirmed that they voted for him. Moreover, among the respondents, 38% said that the winner was Edmundo González Urrutia.
More than half of Venezuelans believe the results given by the CNE
The Pais Ombudsman also revealed the percentage of citizens who believe in the results announced by the National Electoral Council (CNE). According to the results, 60% “have no doubts about the results provided by the institution”, while 26% want the minutes to be published.
In addition, 83% of Venezuelans rated Venezuela’s electoral system positively, including 56% who rated it as “very good.”
Regarding the results published by the Venezuelan opposition on its website, 76% of respondents disagreed that a certain organization or single platform was the one that published the final election data.
Regarding the violence that has occurred since the election, 96% disagree that there have been violent demonstrations. “Furthermore, seven in ten Venezuelans believe that those who advocate violence should be punished and prosecuted.”
A new stage must be opened
Another interesting fact from the Hinterlaces study concerns the future of the country in the coming years, in which Venezuelans were consulted about the post-election period.
“Seventy-two percent of respondents across the country believe that the post-election situation should now close and a new phase of work to unite for the well-being of the country should begin,” the study found.
They believe that the current priorities of citizens’ daily lives are family income, employment, productive economy, health and education.
Regarding consensus on dialogue and reconciliation, Hinterlaces revealed that 57% of Venezuelans recognize that President Maduro is the main promoter of dialogue.
