Former President Donald Trump Sunday falsely accused his November election opponent, Vice President Kamala Harris, use Artificial Intelligence Technology Fabricating images of crowd sizes at her rallies and amplifying baseless conspiracies to explain the overwhelming enthusiasm for the NDP candidate.

“Did anyone notice Kamala cheating at the airport? No one was on the plane and she ‘AI’ed it and showed a bunch of so called followers who didn’t even exist!” the Republican presidential candidate wrote Truth Society.

Trump was referring to photos of a large crowd gathered on the tarmac in Michigan to cheer Harris as she stepped off Air Force Two on Aug. 7. His comments echoed false conspiracy theories spread online by Republican commentators, some of whom have previously been caught promoting misinformation.

Harris’ campaign responded by saying it was “a real photo of a Harris-Waltz rally of 15,000 people in Michigan.” CNBC also authorized Getty Images to take a photo that matched the circulated photo for reporting on the incident.

Harris’ campaign team also took the opportunity to point out the contrast between Harris’ campaign schedule over the past week and Trump’s: “Trump hasn’t campaigned in swing states for more than a week… Lacking energy?”

Trump’s false accusations come at a time of elections when huge advances in artificial intelligence tools have made it easier to spread misinformation, making it harder than ever for voters to distinguish reality from online conspiracies.

Trump’s spreading of false conspiracies was just one of several fierce attacks he launched against Harris on social media this weekend.

On Saturday, he accused Harris of plagiarizing his proposal to Eliminate the tip taxShe made the pledge at a rally in Las Vegas on Saturday. Trump made the same pledge at a rally in Las Vegas in June.

“(Harris) has absolutely no imagination, as evidenced by her imitation of not taxing tips!” Trump said. Truth Society Released on Saturday evening.

Trump’s anger expressed on social media reflects the Republican presidential campaign’s difficulty in finding its footing after Harris’s entry upended the race.

In the three weeks since President Joe Biden After dropping out of the race and backing Harris, the Democratic Party has seen record donations, and Harris’ rallies regularly draw thousands of attendees.

Last week, the Harris campaign launched A trip to seven battleground states This is an initiative coordinated by Harris’ vice presidential running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Waltz.

The pace of the campaign is much faster than what voters saw during Biden’s presidency.

This also contrasts sharply with Harris’s consecutive rallies this month and Trump’s more relaxed schedule.

Trump has held two rallies so far in August, as well as several fundraisers.

He recently said he does not plan to increase campaign travel until after the Democratic National Convention, which runs from Aug. 19 to Aug. 22.
