During the summer, Dagens Media checked in with a number of industry profiles to find out how their holiday plans were going and what issues they were facing when they returned to work.
Camilla BergmanEditor-in-Chief and Founder of Loop.
What do you look forward to doing in your downtime?
– I’ve had the most intense year of my life, with a newly founded company, two small children, every second was filled with turmoil, worry and joy, and so much work. So I’m looking to slow down and recover. It will be a summer in Gotland, with family and friends visiting.
What media won’t you take a break from during the holidays?
– Any media that challenges my ideas. So besides Impact Loop, I read Kvartal and DN Kultur, of course. I was also told about the American Every Earlier this year, Omni co-founder Ian Vännman wrote an article that I was fascinated by – they write long articles and texts about AI and technology, and I learned a lot from them. To keep up with the industry, I read Dagens Media of course, and now also Malmstens Media by Anders Malmsten.
What are the most important issues your company/organization needs to address when you return this fall?
– We have a fun new game coming out after the summer – let’s get back to you soon! – So our challenge is to deal with it. But other than that, it’s all about turning to black numbers, having a tough year when you go from a new startup that people follow because it’s fun to a sustainable brand that people are willing to pay for in the long term.
– What was the most challenging part of the spring for you or your company/organization? Can I name them all exactly? Just kidding – but if you run a newly established company with a new brand, new team, new coverage and new type of everything, there are problems every day. But to name just a few: employees and/or consultants quitting or having to quit, growing pains, understaffing, falling sales and constant stress that also affects the private sector. Of course, I’m also very happy that I took the leap and started my own business, and besides my children, it’s the best thing I’ve ever done!
