34 medals help the Netherlands achieve the best Olympic performance in history

The Netherlands finished its Olympic campaign with 34 medals, including 15 gold medals. Ranked 6th Sandwiched between France and England.

The Netherlands added two gold medals to its total on Sunday, starting with Sifan Hassan’s Extraordinary victory Following closely behind in the marathon was cyclist Harrie Lavreysen, who Win the Keirin.

Keirin is a strategic sprint event and Lavresen scored a hat trick in this event – the 27-year-old has previously won gold medals in both the team and individual sprint events.

Sunday’s competition brings the Netherlands’ medal tally to 15 gold, seven silver and 12 bronze.

Previously, notable victories included Femke Bol’s sprint in the 4×400 mixed relay, a double in hockey, a 3×3 basketball title, and Sharon van Rouwendaal’s victory in the 10km open water race on the Seine.
