Mexico City– A Mexican judge decided this Saturday to place under house arrest Mario Marín, former governor of Puebla (2005-2011), accused of torturing journalist Lydia Cacho over the discovery of a pedophile ring in Mexico, for which he will wear a tracking bracelet and pay bail.

Until the preventive measures were changed, Marin was held at the Federal Social Re-adaptation Centre No. 1, known as “The Plateau”, where he was held in preventive detention for four years.
