Bishop Christian Karasare arrived in Unity State on Thursday to preside over the newly established Catholic Diocese of Bentiu.
The Bishop arrived at the Rubukanta Airport in Unity State in June, two months after assuming office.
His appointment follows Pope Francis’ July 3 announcement of the creation of the new diocese.
Bishop Karasare spoke at St. Martin de Forest Church and expressed his gratitude to the Bentiu church for the hospitality extended to him all the way from Rubkonta Airport.

He said the new parish would promote peace and unity in the name of Jesus throughout Unity State and Ruong Administrative Area.
He extended an invitation to everyone to attend Sunday’s Mass, saying it would be a grand event with a large gathering.
Bishop Stephen Nyodho Ador of the Catholic Diocese of Malakal in the Upper Nile region said he joined other Christians in handing over the new post to Bishop Karasare.
James Tor Tungwar, deputy governor of Unity State, said the regional government led by Governor Riek Biem was fully committed to welcoming the new bishop.
“We at the Unity State Government welcome you and look forward to a period of peace and unity,” he said.
