The Pakistani army announced today that at least three Pakistani soldiers and four extremists were killed in clashes in northwestern Pakistan near the Afghan border.

On Friday evening, clashes broke out between security forces and extremists at three different locations in the mountainous region of Tirqib, close to the border with Syria. Afghanistanreports Türkiye’s Public Service.

According to the Institute for Conflict and Security Studies in Islamabad, Pakistan, more than 550 attacks by extremists in Pakistan have killed more than 580 people, including members of the security services and civilians, in the past seven months.

Islamabad officials accuse the Afghan extremist group Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan of carrying out terrorist attacks in Pakistan, but Taliban authorities deny the accusations and warn Pakistan that anyone crossing the border under any pretext will face the consequences.
