At the inauguration of the headquarters of the Alliance of Civil Society Organizations for Peace and Empowerment of Haitian Women (AOSCPAFH), a secular, non-partisan platform dedicated to achieving gender equality at the political level and the massive and substantial participation of women in improving the social, economic and political governance of the country, the Minister of Women’s Affairs, Marie-Françoise Suzanne, reiterated her strong support for civil society organizations. She recognized the decisive role these organizations play in the struggle for respect for women’s rights and their participation at all levels.
Minister Suzanne praised the passion and dedication of all the women in the coalition and expressed her readiness to work with the organization. She stressed that “this remarkable group of women’s organizations demonstrates the strong will of Haitian women to actively participate in building a more just, equal and peaceful society.”
She said her department would not only continue to support the Alliance’s initiatives but would also work with all women’s organizations to achieve the common goal of improving the living conditions of women, especially the most vulnerable women.
