Mexico City (apro) – As it celebrates its 100th anniversary and 150,000 vehicles sold in Mexico, MG Motor reports its intention to build an assembly plant in our country to meet domestic and Latin American demand.

Zhang Wei, president of MG Motor Mexico, assured that the plan aims to turn Mexico into “a pole of growth and expansion for SAIC and MG Motor in Latin America and the Caribbean.”

“We are pleased to announce our plans to make Mexico the hub of Latin America. This will include not only a manufacturing plant, but also a research and development center.”

However, despite their assurances that the project will be completed soon, there is no specific date or the exact investment that will be provided for the project.

Since last year, Daniel Nava, vice president of MG Motor Mexico, announced in an interview with the newspaper Excelsior that the company intends to invest in the country, since our country has an important position in terms of sales, being the eighth place.

MG Motors is a British automobile manufacturer founded in 2007 to continue the tradition of MG Motors, founded by William Morris, and now belongs to the Chinese company SAIC Motors, following an alliance between the two companies 17 years ago.
