The social network reported last Saturday that Alfonso Leiva Centeno, 47, has decided to take his own life in a cell to avoid spending the next few years in prison for the murder of his cousin, Santos del Socorro Salgado Soza, 56, in Matagalpa Cebaco.

Last Thursday, Leyva Centeno pleaded guilty in a Managua court to attempted rape and aggravated murder after she burned her cousin Santos Salgado Sosa alive for speaking out against sexual abuse.

After admitting the facts, the Public Ministry requested life imprisonment for the defendants for the brutal crime committed in the early hours of May 23 this year.

On the day of the incident, Leyva met her cousin on a street in Sebaco as she was going to pray and presented her with flowers, which she thought could be used to decorate the place for religious ceremonies.

He then lured her into the auditorium of a private kindergarten and attempted to rape her, and when she resisted, he hit her on the head and strangled her until she lost consciousness.

He then immediately placed her on a carbonara, covered her with cardboard and plastic and took her to a rice field in the mountains, where he set her on fire, still alive.

In the next few days, the judge in charge of the case will announce the sentence, but according to online reports, the murderer would rather escape through the false door than hear that he will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Tu Nueva Radio Ya is trying to confirm the news circulating on social networks, but so far it has not been confirmed or denied by any authority.
