The navy’s diving unit is reportedly taking part in a massive cleanup as part of the “Taza Kazakhstan” environmental campaign. Aktau City Akimat,transmission Tengri News Network.
Three divers took part in the underwater cleanup, removing 250 square metres of debris at a depth of 10-15 metres.
The last time we cleaned the seabed, we collected 10 bags of trash; this time we collected 12 bags.
“The seabed is mostly plastic, bags, eggplants, iron. Today, as part of the environmental campaign, divers are contributing to the cleanliness of the ocean. We ask people to keep the ocean clean and not litter. When they come to the shore to relax, they go in the water,” he told Sairan Abdikarimov, a Kazakh and head of the naval diving department of the 2901st Military Unit.
Military personnel have expressed their willingness to support ongoing clean-up activities.
