A seminar on “Good practices in access to justice and office management in criminal, civil and labour matters” was held to standardize the standards of court and chambers secretaries of the Cochabamba Provincial Court (TDJC).
The campaign is promoted by Nuria Gonzales Romero, the Supreme Court Justice elected by Cochabamba, in partnership with the Construir Foundation.
The seminar was attended by TDJC President Winder Velasco Canelas; Susana Saavedra Badani, National Director of the Construir Foundation; and singer Henry Santos Aranez. Judges Fernando Pérez Montaño, Moron Orellana Maldonado, Carolina Saonero Alvarado, Marcelo Rocha Mejía, Clovis Hugo Espinosa Perlas and José Santos Canaveri also participated as exhibitors. These experts and the assistant secretary spent nearly four hours preparing conclusions by theme to unify the standards.
Opening the seminar, Gonzalez stressed the importance of the secretary’s role and the impact of treating litigants with respect and individuality.
“It is gratifying to see the expression of a person change when you speak to them politely and attentively. This builds a bond of trust. It is vital that our regulatory and forensic approach is reflected in the day-to-day handling and management of each case, remembering that behind each file there are lives and rights that must be respected and restored.”
In his speech, Velasco stressed the importance of documenting good practices as a key tool for successful judicial administration.
“The Provincial Court is considering developing a formal document reflecting these good practices and submitting it to the highest judicial body. This will enable them to be replicated in all courts and ultimately benefit citizens.”
The workshop introduced the parameters for unifying the standards of daily management of the Secretaries, culminating in the formation of three working groups dedicated to criminal, civil and labor matters. These tables drafted a consensus on the best judicial office management.
The TDJC said the contribution and deployment of the speaking judges were crucial in consolidating standard uniform parameters, demonstrating a strong commitment to the continuous improvement of the judicial system.
