Sunrise Airlines: More seats added to Les Cayes and Cap-Haïtien flights
Sunrise Air, a Haitian private airline, will increase the number of seats on its Port-au-Prince/Les Cayes and Port-au-Prince/Cap-Haitien flights three times a week, adding 150 seats per day to Cap-Haitien and 90 seats per day to Les Cayes.
Sunday demonstration
Jeantel Joseph, leader of the Haitian Sovereign National Awakening Party, announced that demonstrations against those in power will be held in the streets of the capital on Sunday, August 11.
“Livres en Folie” 30th Edition
On Thursday, August 15, the 30th edition of Livres en Folie will take place at the Karibe Hotel. More than 165 authors will sign books at this annual event. 1,079 books about Haiti or written by Haitian authors await you at Livres en Folie.
Evoking memories of a 40,000-seat stadium:
On Friday, August 9, 2024, the President of the Transition Committee, Edgard Leblanc, presented a proposal to the “Toup Pou Yo” Foundation, represented by Pierre Paul Patrice Dumont, Guy Allen, Frantz Exil, Marina Gourgue, Daniel Elie, Reynold Guerrier and Hans Vilfort, to establish a partnership for projects to build sports infrastructure, in particular a modern stadium with 40,000 seats (a project led by former Senator Patrice Dumond). President Leblanc has promised to present this initiative to the other members of the CPT and to Prime Minister Conille.
As many as 10% of civil servants have left Haiti
Between 8,000 (7.7%) and 10,000 (9.7%) public administration civil servants have left the country. Exact figures are difficult to obtain for the State. Prime Minister Corneille said he was awaiting preliminary diagnostics of the human resources workforce in order to undertake a large-scale recruitment of young socio-professional women and men to renew the Haitian administrative workforce on a merit-based basis in order to fill and revitalize the public administration. Our Grenada team lost in the qualifying round and ended up at the bottom of the table.
As part of the CONCACAF Champions League U-15 Women’s Championship A League, our Grenada team faced Puerto Rico at the Alajuelense Club Training Center Field 2 for a place in the finals. In this fourth and final match, our Grenada team lost for the fourth time, 1-0, to a shot from L. Franco in the 50th minute.
