When Mary Robinson first heard about the idea of making a documentary about her life’s work, she had a hard time agreeing. In the end, it was the late, great Brad Rosne – Robinson’s former special adviser who died last September – who encouraged Ireland’s first female president to tell her story on screen.
“To be honest, I wasn’t initially keen on making the film,” Robinson said while promoting the documentary with director Effie Kelleher at the Brooks Hotel in Dublin. “It was Brad Rosney who very much thought it should be made.
