The President of the Republic, João Lourenço, this Friday (9th), defended an open and inclusive dialogue to build a society with equal participation of women and girls.

Speaking at the launch of the “We Are All Equal” campaign in Luanda, João Lourenço said: “By providing equal learning and training opportunities, we are giving young women the tools to help them reach their full potential so they can fully contribute to building inclusive, vibrant societies.”

On the other hand, the Angolan head of state justified the struggle for superiority seen in the past, citing the example of the slave trade.

The campaign is an initiative of African First Ladies for Development, which aims to contribute to closing the gender gap by focusing on equitable education and learning opportunities for all.

On this occasion, the First Lady of the Republic, Ana Dias Lourenço, said that we must understand that the construction of a society where everyone is truly equal is a responsibility that rulers, politicians, social and cultural subjects and, in general, citizens must consciously assume a responsible and active role in the construction of this social structure.

The First Lady of the Republic also called for joint efforts to combat violence against children and adolescents at the launch of the “We are all equal” campaign.
