A bulldozer driver was injured in a direct Houthi bombardment that targeted workers who were removing earth barriers and opening the (Juba-Marib) line that had been cut off for years.
Local sources explained that a bulldozer driver named Yaish Ahmed Hussein Al-Omari was seriously injured while clearing obstacles and mud obstructions at the contact point on the (Al-Juba-Ma’rib) line.
The sources said that after being forced to agree under popular pressure, the Houthi militia directly targeted bulldozer drivers and workers who were clearing obstacles and mud barriers with the aim of preventing the opening of the road.
Meanwhile, the Houthi militia announced in the last few hours that the road was open after clearing mines and roadblocks, a deception they often use when committing crimes.
Medical sources said the driver had been transferred to Marib General Hospital and was in intensive care due to the severity of his injuries.
Last Wednesday, a convoy of the People’s Peace Initiative arrived in the city of Marib, which aims to open roads that have been closed since the start of the war in 2015.
The movement of the Initiative’s vehicles along the same route in Al Bayda governorate was disrupted for several days due to obstacles set up by the militias, including the leakage of cars carrying armed men affiliated with the militias from the movement.
