PARIS – The United States women’s volleyball team has become Brazil’s nightmare at the Olympics, winning 3-2 (25-23, 18-25, 25-15, 23-25, 15-11) in the final in Paris on Thursday.

Brazil entered the match with the pain of losing to North America in the 2020 Tokyo Olympic final and in the spirit of revenge, but the team led by Kachi Kiraly once again defeated Jose Roberto’s Guimaraes in a wonderful duel and was one step away from reaffirming the Olympic title.

Kathryn PlummerScored 26 points and was the star of the game, with the U.S. getting strong support from Avery Skiner (19) and Andrea Drews (18).
