– Four weeks before the Olympics, Sunisa Lee wrote on Instagram: Thank God for Beacon.
The American gymnast poses with a dog who, for several months, has played a very special role on the USA Gymnastics team: a therapy dog.

The 21-year-old had been battling illness and injury and wasn’t sure she would even make it to the Olympics, but by the time the Games got underway in Paris, she already had three medals.
A small part of this era belongs to Beacon Miller, a golden retriever.
Secret Weapon
Beacon used to be a therapy dog in a hospital, but now the gym has replaced the hospital. The four-year-old dog is an important member of the US gymnastics team in preparation for the Olympics.
They were clearly the best at the tournament so far, winning a total of 10 medals.

She is the personal trainer of the biggest gymnast Simone Biles.

Biles loves dogs and has two of her own at home. Before the Olympics, she posted an Instagram post about one dog providing comfort and the other providing energy.
Of course she had seen Beacon.
Her coach has no doubt that Beacon has a positive impact on athletes.
– I think dogs give them some peace and quiet. Dogs don’t judge you and they don’t talk. Dogs are always happy when they are petted and love to be around people. They almost help humanize the athletes, Cancto-Randy said.
– Huge pressure
Beacon has been on the U.S. Olympic team for 14 months and has his own Instagram account with more than 42,000 followers. According to Biles’ trainer, the dog still is not allowed to travel to France because of the complications of taking a dog across borders.
Christine Olsen, who has a doctorate in public health and studies the relationship between animals and humans, said there is evidence that dogs can have a positive impact on humans.
– It has been proven that the physiological changes in therapy dogs can lead to positive recovery. The emotional aspect is also important. They care about us and are there no matter what the situation is, Olson said.

BRILLIERT: The young American saw her bronze medal finish on bars.
She believes that even people who aren’t too fond of animals can benefit from spending time with dogs.
– A therapy dog can provide different modes of action depending on the person’s needs. It can allow you to think about other things and take your attention away from what you have to do. Or it can allow you to be more engaged in something, she continued:
– In a situation like Champion’s, the stress is enormous. The therapy dog will then provide social support, she said.
International attention
Beacon Miller received the honor of “MVP,” or “Most Valuable Pup” of the USA Gymnastics team. The abbreviation “MVP” means “Most Valuable Player” and is used in situations where the most important player on a team is chosen.
That’s quite a title for a therapy dog who helps the best gymnastics team in the world, filled with world stars.
The lighthouse hasn’t gone unnoticed among the gym’s stars, either.
Julia Soares of Brazil, competing alongside Biles in the bars final, fell to the floor when NRK showed her a picture of the American Tamagotchi.
– That’s great. I love dogs and I want one myselfvictory Suarez flew to NRK.
– Have they ever considered getting a dog like this for the national team?
“We already have our own mascot, who I love very much, so I can’t replace him, but dogs are great and bring a lot of joy to the team, so it’s nice for them to have him around,” she said.

HAPPY: Julia Suarez would love to have a dog. But not at the expense of Brazil’s Olympic mascot.

China’s Zou Jingyuan, who won gold in the men’s vault, also believes it is important to relax during a championship game.
– We all have our own way of relaxing, everyone has his or her own method. It is a wonderful feeling to be at the Olympic Games and to be on this stage. Everyone has his or her own method, says the recent NRK winner.
This way, American gymnasts became the nation with the most wins in gymnastics during the Olympics, and therapy dog Beacon Miller can share some of the credit.
