Zelensky: Russia should also feel the consequences of the war

“Russia brought war to our country and should feel the consequences,” Zelensky said in his daily address, but he did not explicitly mention an incursion by Ukrainian troops into Russia.

Kursk Oblast Deputy Governor Andrei Belostoitsky said yesterday that Russian troops had blocked the advance of Ukrainian troops in the region that Ukrainian troops invaded this week.

“The enemy has not advanced a single meter, but has retreated. Enemy equipment and combat forces are being actively destroyed. We hope to stop the enemy in the near future,” Belostoytsky said.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described the incursion as a “major provocation”.

Ukrainian authorities have not commented on the scope of the operation. If confirmed, it would be the largest incursion into Ukraine since the conflict began in February 2022.

The Kursk region’s 245-kilometer border with Ukraine allows terrorist groups to quickly invade and capture some terrain before Russia can deploy reinforcements.
