Zafrani: Bouhaleb will appear in court again
The journalist’s lawyer and member of the defence committee, Mohamed Bouhrab Hammadi Al-Zafrani, said the latter would be brought to the criminal chamber of the Tunis Court of First Instance.
Hamadi Zaafrani, in a statement to Mosaïque Fm on August 8, 2024, noted that Mohamed Boughalleb was prosecuted under article 24 of Decree No. 54 following a complaint filed by a university teacher. The judge has issued a detention order against the journalist in connection with the same case.
It should be reminded that Mohamed Boughalleb, who has been under arrest since March 22, 2024, was sentenced to six months in prison and immediate execution following a complaint filed by an official from the Ministry of Religious Affairs. The sentence was increased to eight months after an appeal. This decision was severely criticized.
