Around 12:30 this afternoon, an elderly man was the victim of an armed robbery at his home address in Leiding 20, Suriname.
Two men attacked him and hit him with the butts of their pistols, causing his head to explode.
Shortly before the attack, a local resident saw the suspect walking towards Mohamed Rashied Pierkhanweg. The perpetrator then entered the victim’s property and robbed him.
After the robbery, the perpetrators fled through a neighboring meadow. The victim was 81-year-old Mohamed R., who lost 20,000 Surinamese dollars, 800 euros, 900 US dollars and the keys to a Vitz car.
The police who received the alarm were unable to immediately deploy specialized forces due to lack of gasoline.
The perpetrator is still at large and the Surinamese police are further investigating the case.
